I’ve spent the past several years helping writers grow in the Weeknight Writers Pro Community. I’ve shown them how to develop their craft, finish novels for the first time, learn how to edit their work, and build the confidence to begin querying or start on the journey of self publishing.
This has been some of the most satisfying work of my life, especially in 2025 when I saw long-term members Sunny Monique and SM Reiher publish their first books (My Ex is A Vampire and The Mycelium Palace, if you’re curious). I’m so proud of these writers, and I’m proud to have built a community capable of carrying them on this journey.
In 2026, I want to take things to the next level with more robust support for writers at every stage of the writing and publishing journey. I’ll be introducing:
- Second Draft Spring: Beta, a lightly structured challenge in March and April with events, workshops, and worksheets designed to help you effectively revise your book. We’ll also have structured editing check-ins during these months.
- More advanced workshops conducted through Zoom, with in-depth information on how to improve specific aspects of your craft. We’ll also be recording Zoom workshops to create a members-only library of content you can visit at any time to improve your skills.
- More structured critique groups, which I will be revitalizing and working to make more active over the coming months.
- Publisher and market databases to help you find places to publish your science fiction, fantasy, and horror stories.
- Structured weekly and monthly marketing check-ins to encourage folks to create actionable marketing goals–and hold them accountable in working toward those goals.
This is an ambitious increase in programming. To make it all possible, I’ll be raising prices from just $5 and $10 per month to $20 and $35 per month next Monday, on January 5th. That leaves you with just three days to lock into community membership at our lowest-ever rates.
